The California Coastal Commission says Long Beach has a history of unpermitted tree trimming.
The report comes as the ship has temporarily halted its operations amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The California Air National Guard’s 144th Fighter Wing will skip the Southern California area on Wednesday, keeping its flight path in Northern California.
The ship has been closed to visitors since March but was exploring possibly housing the military personnel and first responders to aid in the pandemic and maintain operations.
Great blue herons are protected by the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which prohibits the killing of any migratory birds except as permitted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The businesses will be open for curbside pickup only.
Offices, beauty salons, dine-in restaurants, shopping malls and other large businesses are not included in the first wave.
Mayor Robert Garcia reminded residents that the city’s beaches remained closed and everyone should mind the health orders.
News reports had originally stated that Newsom was planning to order closures for all beaches and state parks, but in Thursday’s news conference, he said he is taking a more “targeted” approach by focusing on Orange County.
More than 80% of Long Beach’s 36 deaths have been linked to long-term care facilities.
