The victim was shot in his lower extremities and torso and transported to a local hospital by paramedics.
The suspects are male, police said, and the incident is being investigated as possibly gang related.
Police do not yet know the motive for the shooting but said the suspect is a woman.
A teenager took himself to a hospital after being shot outside a home in North Long Beach Thursday night, according to authorities.
Officers found bullet casings in the street and a 16-year-old who’d been shot in the upper body, police said.
The shooting happened at about 1:20 a.m. as the bus was on the Grapevine section of 5 Freeway high in the mountains between L.A. and the San Joaquin Valley.
Officials said victims were “approached by a small group of male suspects” who attempted to rob them and ended up shooting at them.
Police aren’t sure yet why the gunman attacked.
The victim was near Long Beach and Artesia boulevards when he heard gunshots Saturday, but he didn’t immediately realize he had been shot.
Police think there was “a long-term, ongoing personal dispute between the suspect and the victims.”
