A pedestrian was killed in a violent crash that involved two cars at Santa Fe Avenue and Hill Street this evening, according to authorities.
A woman, who police say ran into traffic, was fatally struck by a Dodge Dakota truck Tuesday in North Long Beach.
The high-speed crash killed 64-year-old Dennis Nguyen on March 23, according to authorities.
Police said two vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened around 6:20 a.m. near the intersection of Anaheim Street and Pacific Coast Highway.
The woman was crossing Magnolia Avenue and 32nd Street inside a crosswalk when a driver in a gray 2003 Honda Pilot traveling south on Magnolia Avenue hit her at about 6:15 p.m., police said.
The victim was identified as Paul Reed, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, adding that Reed was homeless.
Police do not think alcohol, drugs or distracted driving were a factor in the crash and the driver had a valid license and proof of insurance.
Police were called to the scene at Third Street and Magnolia Avenue at about 11:16 a.m.
The 2014 Honda Civic was speeding the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of Harbor Scenic Drive when the driver lost control and hit a curb, according to police.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Caspian Avenue, according to the LBPD.
